Gotcha Day!

One year ago today...

... we were matched with our little Chu Chu! It was a VERY long day of waiting and wondering and then finally, panicking that maybe our agency never got the paperwork we submitted! I knew that the people who were matched were the last ones to be called, but as day turned to night, I started to think that maybe something had gone wrong! Finally, the phone rang at about 6:35PM and it was Erin from our agency. She said that I was her last call of the day and... we had a daughter! We were all thrilled to say the least!

Since that wonderful day one year ago, there has been a lot of paperwork and waiting, more paperwork and waiting, and then a lot more waiting! Chu Chu has turned two without us, which was very hard to handle. At the same time though, we know that she is being loved and cared for by a wonderful foster family, and that makes the wait a little bit easier. Although we had hoped to have her home long before this, we know that it will happen when the time is right.

We have been lucky enough to be able to send her care packages and even a cake and presents for her birthday, and we can't wait until the day when we can finally hold her in our arms and tell her how much we love her.

So as we sit here, still waiting, we are so thankful today to have this little girl in our lives. Our wait is almost over and soon we will all be together as a family. Hold on Chu Chu, we're almost there!
